A small personal project where I created a miniature island scene in Blender to improve my 3D modeling skills. This project focuses on environment design, texturing, and lighting techniques.
The goal of this project was to practice and enhance my 3D modeling skills in Blender by creating a stylized miniature island environment. I focused on learning proper modeling techniques, material creation, and scene composition.
The main challenges included creating realistic vegetation, achieving proper lighting for different times of day, and optimizing the scene for smooth playback. I also worked on understanding Blender's node-based material system to create custom textures.
I started with basic geometric shapes and gradually built up the complexity. Using Blender's modifier system, I was able to create organic shapes for terrain and vegetation. For textures, I experimented with procedural materials and UV mapping to achieve the desired look.
The final result is a charming miniature island scene that demonstrates improved skills in 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting. This project has given me confidence to tackle more complex 3D environments in future work.
